The Forever Smile
All-on-X Dental Implants

All-on-X treatment at our Prairie Village office is performed by Dr. Daniel Rome.

If a loose denture or several damaged teeth make everyday meals difficult, it helps to understand the choices before choosing a procedure. All-on-X is one way to replace a complete upper or lower arch with teeth that stay attached to dental implants.

The Forever Smile is Rome McClellan Dental Group’s full-arch program. Explore treatment options, your care pathway, and ongoing care.

What does All-on-X mean?

A full-arch implant bridge replaces the teeth in one jaw. Several implants placed in the jawbone support the bridge. The X describes a number selected for the individual plan; it does not mean everyone needs the same number of implants.

The bridge is fixed: you do not take it out for routine cleaning. A dental professional may remove it when service is needed. Fixed does not mean maintenance-free, and neither the implants nor the replacement teeth come with a promise of lasting forever.

Fixed teeth or removable dentures?

  • All-on-X: a full-arch bridge attached to implants; you clean around and beneath it rather than removing it each day.
  • Snap-in dentures: a removable denture that connects to implant attachments and comes out for cleaning.
  • Conventional dentures: removable replacement teeth without implant attachments.

The best fit depends on your oral health, cleaning needs, preferences, and budget. Compare fixed teeth, snap-in dentures, and dentures before deciding.

First ask what can be kept

Having damaged teeth does not automatically mean all of them should be removed. An examination helps determine whether individual teeth can be restored and whether replacing selected teeth would meet your needs. Full-arch treatment deserves a comparison with reasonable tooth-preserving and removable alternatives.

Is an implant-supported arch a reasonable option for you?

The answer depends on more than how many teeth are missing. Your dentist needs to review the mouth and the health history together. Bring an up-to-date medication list and tell the team about tobacco use, health conditions, and previous dental treatment.

  • Foundation: bone, gums, infection, and the outlook for remaining teeth.
  • Restoration: space for the replacement teeth, bite, speech, appearance, and lip support.
  • Healing: medical conditions, medications, and habits that can affect recovery.
  • Home care: your ability to clean beneath a fixed bridge and return for follow-up.

An examination and imaging when indicated help identify the choices. A web page or phone call cannot establish implant candidacy.

Understand each stage before treatment starts

  1. Evaluate and compare. Discuss your goals, remaining teeth, implant options, and alternatives.
  2. Plan the teeth and their support. Review the proposed tooth position, bite, implant arrangement, and any preparation that may be needed.
  3. Agree on the healing plan. Know what you will wear while healing and what happens if a temporary fixed bridge is not suitable.
  4. Place implants and monitor healing. The surgical sequence and follow-up depend on the individual plan.
  5. Complete and maintain the restoration. The final teeth, bite checks, cleaning instructions, and future service are part of the conversation.

Some patients can receive temporary fixed teeth soon after implant placement. Others need a delayed or removable temporary option. Implant stability, anatomy, and healing needs can change the plan. The final restoration is not the same as a temporary bridge used during healing.

What daily care and future repairs involve

A fixed arch still needs daily cleaning around the implants and beneath the bridge. Ask for a demonstration with tools suited to your restoration and your ability to use them. Routine professional visits remain important even when there are no natural teeth in that arch.

Implant treatment carries risks, including infection, healing problems, injury to nearby structures, and implant failure. Replacement teeth or components can wear, chip, loosen, or require repair. Contact the office if something feels loose or painful rather than trying to tighten or repair it yourself.

Bring these questions to your visit

  • Which teeth can reasonably be preserved?
  • Why is this implant arrangement being recommended?
  • What are my temporary-teeth options and backup plan?
  • What will cleaning beneath the bridge require?
  • Which visits, final materials, and future services are included in the estimate?

Use our fixed versus removable comparison and full-arch financing guide to organize the next conversation. For replacement of fewer teeth, see dental implants.

The Forever Smile · Rome McClellan Dental Group

Your next chapter starts with a plan.

The Forever Smile is our full-arch tooth-replacement program. The Forever Smile Method brings the conversation back to what matters: your dental health, the teeth you want to replace, the options that fit your needs, and the care those teeth will require over time.

Start with an assessment—not an assumption that every tooth must be removed. Fixed and removable choices are different, and your recommended plan should explain why an option fits you.

Your Forever Smile options

Different designs. An individual decision.

Starter

Overdenture

A removable implant overdenture that you take out daily for cleaning. Discuss its attachments and support with your dentist.

Transitional

Full fixed PMMA

A fixed full-arch restoration made with PMMA, an acrylic resin. Ask how it fits your treatment sequence and what maintenance or future replacement is planned.

Deluxe

Full fixed zirconia

A fixed full-arch restoration made with zirconia, a ceramic material. The design, bite, cleaning access, and ongoing care matter alongside the material itself.

Choose among these treatment options with your dentist. Conventional dentures are a separate non-implant alternative.

Support beyond your smile reveal

Understand the care—and the coverage.

The Forever Smile Warranty

  • Zirconia: 2 years.
  • PMMA: 1 year.
  • Implants: one replacement if an implant fails within 1 year.

Request the written terms before treatment, including when coverage starts, covered events, exclusions, maintenance requirements, and any related costs. This is not lifetime coverage or a guarantee that an implant cannot fail.

The Forever Smile Care Kit

Ask the team which items are included in the Care Kit for your plan and how to use them. Follow your own postoperative instructions rather than assuming every patient needs the same supplies.

The Forever Smile Care Plan

The Forever Smile Care Plan combines professional cleaning, checks of gums and implant components, imaging when needed, and practical home-care guidance. Visit timing follows your individual needs.

Explore your ongoing Care Plan. Services and fees are confirmed individually; this is separate from warranty coverage.

The Forever Smile Care Plan

Your final teeth still need a care plan.

Ongoing care brings together professional maintenance and a cleaning routine you can manage at home. We tailor the timing of your visits to your gum health, cleaning access, implant history, and other individual risks rather than automatically giving everyone the same schedule.

  • Professional cleaning: remove plaque and buildup using methods suited to your implants and restoration.
  • Gum and restoration checks: review the surrounding tissues, connections, chewing contacts, and areas that are difficult to clean.
  • Imaging when needed: use appropriate images when clinical findings or monitoring needs call for them.
  • Hands-on home-care guidance: help you choose suitable cleaning aids and practice using them around your particular teeth.
  • Attention to changes: assess concerns such as bleeding, soreness, wear, looseness, or a bite that feels different.

The Care Plan describes an ongoing maintenance relationship. It is separate from the warranty and does not promise unlimited visits, free repairs, or that complications cannot occur. Confirm the services and fees for your individual plan.

Common questions

Does All-on-X always use four implants?

No. The implant number and positions are selected around the anatomy and the proposed restoration. The name alone does not establish the treatment plan.

Will I receive my final teeth on surgery day?

Do not assume that a same-day restoration is the final one. Temporary teeth may be possible in selected cases; healing and clinical findings determine the sequence.

Do fixed teeth need professional maintenance?

Yes. Daily cleaning and ongoing professional care are needed. Components and replacement teeth may also need service or repair.
