We know how difficult the pain can be, that's why we have a dedicated place for emergencies in our schedule. Please don't wait for it to get worse, call now.
We understand time is of the essence. Our staff is on-call and ready to consult you for your dental emergency, and book your emergency visit.
In the event where you need medication, we can provide prescriptions for antibiotics and/or pain medication after your in-person visit.
We are not an urgent care center with narrow abilities. We are a full-service practice that can provide you with cosmetic, restorative, and orthodontic services.
As a rule, any oral health problem that is causing you serious pain or bleeding that you can’t treat on your own qualifies as a dental emergency. Let’s look at a few common dental emergencies now:
This is a very painful emergency, so you should call the dentist immediately. In the meantime, rinse out your mouth with warm water, and keep the tooth if possible. Also, try to put an ice pack on it in transit to the dentist.
So your tooth is loose but did not fall out. That's good news (even though it hurts). The dentist might be able to help you save that tooth. Take some over-the-counter pain killers, put ice on it, and get to the dentist as soon as possible.
This is no fun at all… But don’t worry you will be okay. For now, your tooth will be very sensitive to anything that comes into your mouth, including air. Using clove oil will soothe the sensitivity, as will using dental cement from the local drug store. Getting to the dentist as soon as possible is recommended since you are likely in pain.
Toothaches can be caused by a variety of problems. The first thing you should do is rinse your mouth with warm water then try gently flossing around the tooth to remove any food. If the problem persists you’re going to need to take a trip to the dentist.
When something gets caught between your teeth, it can be painful and even lead to infection. You need to get it out right away! First, use floss. If that hurts too much, try something like Soft Picks. If all else fails, you’re going to want to call a dentist.
This could happen for a number of reasons and could be quite serious. You may have an abscess. Abscessed teeth are serious business. The infection can spread quickly, and since your mouth is right next to your brain, you’re playing with fire here. In this case, you really have no other choice but to get to the dentist as soon as possible.
Braces have many moving parts which can break. If they break, call an orthodontist right away. If a wire breaks, move it to somewhere that isn’t poking you. If you can’t move it, cover it with some orthodontic wax until you can see the orthodontist. If a band is loosening, save it and schedule an appointment with an orthodontist for it to be replaced or re-cemented.
This happens all the time when you’re eating, chewing gum, or just not paying attention. Rinse your mouth with some saltwater, then use a piece of gauze to put pressure on the wound. If you can’t stop the bleeding and a dentist is unavailable, you should go to the ER.
This is no fun. If you injure or break your jaw, the only thing you can do is get in touch with an emergency dentist. If you are unable to find a dentist who can help you, you should head to the ER.
Wisdom teeth are complicated. They seem to come on their own terms, and when they do, they can wreak absolute havoc. Pericoronitis is an infection that can occur as a result of wisdom teeth not coming in properly. You should seek an emergency dentist as soon as possible if your wisdom teeth are giving you trouble.
Our team is on-call and ready to address your dental emergency. Please call our office at (913)426-9997 to get in touch with one of our team members and schedule a visit.
Absolutely loved my experience! From the moment I walked in the door, everyone I interacted with was so welcoming and friendly. And they were very knowledgeable and thorough in every step of the process. Dr. Rome himself was so awesome! Such a personable, cool and friendly guy and really knows his stuff. He took the time to really get to know me and explain everything going on with my teeth in a way that I could understand. You can tell he really cares about his patients. I would recommend this practice to everyone!
I am fortunate enough to get to be a colleague and patient of Drs. McClellan and Rome. Both have excellent diagnostic and treatment skills. I recently needed old fillings replaced. Dr. McClellan and Jessica did an great job of making me feel comfortable during the procedure, including the numbing process. They have modern technology like intra-oral cameras that aid in their thorough workups. If you are looking for a great dental group near the plaza, make sure to check these guys out. They’ll take care of you like family.
Im a big fat chicken, but they are very understanding. Very quick, and efficient too. Everyone is friendly too. Rone and McClellan took over my old dentists practice when he retired. Its been a good transition! ❤
The staff was incredibly nice. First time patient and got me in and out in a very timely fashion. Madi was the hygienist who cleaned my teeth, I would highly recommend her! I will definitely be coming back to this office.
Love my dental group. On the cutting edge, so professional and nice from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. I no longer dread going to the dentist.
This was my 2nd visit to Rome McClellan and it was as good as my first! The entire staff is friendly and happy to see you. I was a few minutes late and Madi, the hygienist was waiting for me at the front desk. She did an excellent job cleaning my teeth, answering my questions and explaining what and why she was doing something when needed and was fun to talk to. Dr. McClellan did a quick check-up at the end, and told me one thing he was watching and took a picture so he could show me on the screen. Everyone is on the same page in regards to dental health and you can tell they are intentional with their work. I feel as if I’m in good hands. Dr. McClellan and the office manager remembered my son who had been there quite a bit over the summer and asked about how he was doing back at.school. All medical and dental care should be this professional and customer focused!
I hate the dentist, but really love Dr. Rome. I’m pretty squeamish about drilling and scraping and all that (can) come with going to the dentist, but I mean it when I say that Dr. Rome and his team are the quickest, most careful, and comforting group you could ask for. I’d send my grandmother and my kids to Dr. Rome! Thank you, Dr. Rome and team!
This is a great office. They have up to date technology and still have the personal touch. Smiles from everyone starting at the front desk .The doctors make a point to be sure you understand your treatment. I recommend this office for all your dental needs.
My, now-retired, dentist sold his practice to this group. So far, three routine visits with the hygienist, the move for me has been seamless. The staff and professionals are knowledgeable and pleasant. Going in next month for some minor dental work. I expect more of the same.
No need to be afraid to go here!!! Everyone, from the dentists (mine is Dr. McClellan) to the hygienists to the office staff, is outstanding at what they do. Every experience I've had has been completely pain-free. This group is totally committed to providing their patients with excellent dental care. I can't recommend them highly enough!!!
After having some bad luck with dentists in the past, I've become a bit picky when it comes to which ones I trust. I live in Leavenworth, which is nearly an hour away from their office at the Plaza, but after my initial appointment, I'm SO glad I made the drive! Dr. Rome was recommended to me by a client and I can see why! The quality staff, their professionalism, and the inviting feeling I got from the second I walked in the door is what made my experience so wonderful! Dr. Rome and his staff are top-tier. Thank you for treating me so well!
Professional state of the art practice on The Plaza. Bailey is an awesome hygienist. She is truly the best I have ever had work on my teeth. My father was a dentist so I am well versed in dental practices and procedures. Great group!
The Rome McClellan team is very friendly and professional. Lexi, the hygienist, made sure I was comfortable despite it being a while since I'd last seen the dentist. She was gentle and made my visit painless!
Everyone here was super friendly and helpful. They all seem very happy to see me every time I come in for an appointment. I have never had a bad experience here. They are gentle yet thorough in their cleaning. All of my appointments they have had me in and out quickly. They caught two cavities I had soon on and had me in shortly after for fillings before they could get bad. 10/10 recommend
This is the best dental group I've been a patient at. Dr. McClellan and the dental hygienist Baillie are friendly and educate their patients. I recommend going here because of their continued care.
